x, xo, xx, xoxo, Xx and maybe even XX

DEFINITIONS:

x -

this is used for anyone.  boy or girl, friend or more-than-friend – an “x” is a cute/nice gesture or sign that you care.   Great sign off for an email to someone you care about.

xx or xo or xoxo-

very similar to the “x.”  It’s a term of familiarity or endearment.  Can be used to say, “I’m teasing you,” or “I like you” (in a platonic or non-platonic way.) Great way to soften the blow of sarcasm – just add  an “xx” to the end of the sentence.   :)   I like to use xoxo for besties.

Xx -

This is more of a KISS – though it’s easy to accidentally capitalize xs and so it can’t ALWAYS be taken seriously.  I don’t use this one anymore because if I want to throw J.C. a digital kiss I use “:-* or Muah!”.

XX -

definitely a kiss.  That’s just how it is.

XxXX, XXX, XoXXo -

If you receive any variations of the above – it probably means the sender has a crush on you.  OR they are flirting outrageously with you because they can.

xoxoxoxo or XOXOXOXO-

I sign things like this to my mom – it just means what it means – hugs and kisses.
